I have a check engine light that came on suddenly. I was driving in the rain but under hood seems dry. The scanner gave me a code of P0236 and P0237 which has to do with the function of the turbos. The car runs fine, around town anyway. This is a 2002 Volvo S80 with twin turbos, 6-cylinder engine (T6). Has less than 100,000 miles and was recently serviced (2 weeks ago).
P0236 Atmosheric pressure sensor / boost pressure sensor range check
P0237 Boost pressure sensor signal too low intermittent
This code condition is for P0237 which is the MAP (Manifold absolute pressure) sensor,Because this is a turbo engine , the engine management it is refferred to as a Boost sensor. As for P0236 this component code simutaneously when a boost / map code appears. It is safe to drive but the fuel economy will be lousy.
