P0720 2000 NISSAN MAXIMA -

Code 500 came up in history it is cleared or was as the car is back at college it now has irratic speedo reading, reads 0 then goes to road speed then down again then floats about after replacing the vss and struts. Is it possible i stressed the harness like in the 1997 Nissan at the right strut tower or contaminated the harness plug causing a resistance at the plug -pin connection?

If the code is cleared and staying off then the speedometer itself is the problem. The signal goes from the speed sensor to the speedometer, then to the ecm. So,if the light is off, that means the computer is seeing the signal like it should.The speedometer needs to be replaced.
