how do i find out if its the fuel pump thats out.

Question

the check engine light is not on but was hooked up the the machine and 14 codes came up but none explains the not wanting to start. i have a 98 chev venchure

Hi there

You need a fuel pressure gauge to check and see if the pump is working or not. Sometimes you can spray some carb cleaner into the throttle body and if the car will start and run for a few seconds, it points to a problem with the fuel pump.
