P0340 code tripping Limp Home Mode

Question

I first changed the knock sensor as it says on the code reader. Ran better than came back. Not only came back but tripped the LHM every time I started the car. Changed the Cam pos sensor and it fixed it immediately. Now (6 months later) LHM kicks on 2-4 times a week and will soon be a daily occurance again.

Any help would be much appreciated.

HI there,

If you used an aftermarket cam sensor, its likely due for another. the quality of the aftermarket parts is such that they just don't last as long. You may also have an actual timing issue, but that would be more consistent.
