i had the p0449 code come up and cleared it and it came back on after two minutes of running do i need the evap solenoid

In most cases when you have this code you do need to replace the vent solenoid to resolve the problem. There could also be a wiring problem, but most of the time the solenoid itself is the cause of the code.
