2001 Impala new EGR valve still get error code 1404

I replaced my EGR Valve and I'm still getting a error code p1404 and 404. I also have replaced my gas cap. Also, my engine is getting hotter than it should but not over heating when I drive with a lot of stops but does not on long drives.

Vehicle: 2001, Impala, Chevy, 3.8
