Why is my car going into reverse while driving?

Hello, I have a 2002 Chrysler 300m 3.6 liter. When driving my light on my dash will all of a sudden say that my car is in reverse and then my car will stall. Never really going into reverse. To get it to go back to drive I either have to put my gear shifter into reverse in which at that point the car does go into reverse most of the time and then put it back in drive sometimes I do have to stop in which the car at that point starts jerking and then dies . I then can restart my car and then it will be fine until it decides to do it again. Check engine light is on throwing code po441 which is incorrect purge flow in EVAP system not sure if there's a connection to code and symptoms or not. Please help

No, the P0441 code is not related to the transmission problem, you must have a transmission shop check the transmission for you.
