Help with Power Steering light, wheel is stiff. Thanks!

Hi, I’m having an issue with my 2011 Nissan Altima Hybrid. The PS (Power Steering) light is on and the steering wheel is very stiff. There hasn’t been any other issues, it’s just the steering wheel. I took it to a mechanic and he said it was the power steering computer that needed to be replaced. Not sure that’s specific enough but any advice would help.
