Question about a CVT warranty issue

I have a 2010 Nissan Sentra 2.0 basic. I had a diagnostic test completed on it today and the code that was spit out was P1778 which is a step motor inside the CVT. I am being told by my local Nissan dealer who ran the diagnostic that this is not covered by the extended 10 year 120,000 mile warranty. The car is eight years old and has 116,000 miles on it. Shouldn’t any transmission work be covered under that warranty including that code?

Yes, it should be cover under the 10 year 120k miles warranty. Call another dealer.
