I have been chasing the PO501 problem for several days, speedometer, odometer and ABS system are (and have been) all working fine. Changed the Vehicle Speed Sensor, problem still there. Changed the right front wheel sensor, problem still there. Completed a quick visual check of associated connections, no apparent problems there. The check engine light keeps returning with the PO501 code. An on-line picture shows a thing called a "combination meter" between the transmission and the ECM. Is the combination meter part of the vehicle speed sensor on this car? If not where is it located? Finally, do you have any other suggestions to fix my problem?
