Got a code of p1818 how to fix without a mechanic

I have a 2007 Pontiac g6 v6 engine and got a code p1818 transmission fluid pressure code and just wondering how to fix without taking it to a mechanic it just popped up last night the engine light came on then my speed ometer quit working any help would be greatly appreciated

Unfortunately, there is no much you can do without doing some inspection and possibly replacing a part.

There is a factory service bulletin which explains that sometimes the P1818 code can be set by a problem with the Transmission Control Module (TCM) program and reprograming the TCM is required to fix the problem.
