I have an 2005 Toyota Highlander. when changing the battery the cables were crossed and shorted out. 140amp main fuse and the ABS1 fuse were blown. I replaced the fuses and the car will start. The check engine and VSC lights are on and the gas throttle doesn't work. any recommendations?

You still have the open fuse, when the cable get reversed it usually takes the EFI fuse with it,  this one has the ETCS fuse that would open it gives power the ABS system also. One thing keep in mind it always the fuses whether this has the fuse block assembly or individuals. These situation are always encountered, no componenet are damage just fuses.
