Code P1281 engine running cold

Question

I check my check engine light and got P1281 Engine is Cold Too Long so i decided to change my thermostat it was stuck in the open position, my mechanic turned off my check engine light but it came back on about 3 months after that I got the same code P1281 Thermostat inactive but I was there when my mechanic installed the thermostat so I know it has a thermostat does that mean the thermostat Is stuck again?

Hi there

It's possible the thermostat has failed again, however you may be low on engine coolant or have an issue with the coolant temp sensor. I would check the coolant level and then go from there.
