Code 1698, wi not shift out of first gear

Engine light is on, Code 1698 shows up on OBDII, transmission will not shift out of first gear, also speedometer does not work. My car is a 2001 Chrysler Prowler with only 5000 miles. In checing my battery, the positive connection on the battery was loose, tightened with NO luck in correcting the problem. Any suggestions?

On P1698 check the fuse, it usually the No. 13 fuse or the No. 3 fuse when there is no power the Transmission relay is non operational. you may even want replace the transmission relay. P1698 will give a message NO BUS COMMUNICATION. if that also the case check the ignition fuse, and be sure the horn fuse does not blow out it fuse.
