P1780 code what is the fix?

Question

1996 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6. I changed out my neutral safety switch, check engine light went off the next morning it went back on. I fixed the bushings under the automatic gear shifter the shift is really loose the engine light stayed on. What else can it be

It is possible the switch needs an adjustment or there is a wiring issue from the switch to the computer since the light came back on.
