I have a Chrysler 300C and the check engine light comes on for code P0456 evaporation emission system leak detected very small leak how do I go about fixing or chasing down the problem and fixing it

Start with the fuel cap, there a seal on the fuel cap if that is worn enough you set a Evap code such as a small leak, another cause is not securing the fuel cap.
