Originally the issue was my check gauges light come on. It was my battery gauge, dropped down into the red. Made it home and checked with a volt meter, measured 12.26V. With headlights on it drops down to 12.11V. turn lights off and it comes back up to 12.26V. Had alternator tested at Orielly's, they said it was good.

I did some research and found it could be the PCM or the Battery Temp Sensor. Got a new temp sensor because it was cheaper, did not fix it. Ordered a new PCM. They asked for VIN, mileage, and exact part number so they could flash one for me. Put a trickle charger on my battery and put a full charge on it. I let it sit over night after I charged it but with the neg cable disconnected. Before I put the new PCM in it and it had a charge of 12.86V on it still. Got it in, Part number matched. Installed it, it was only charging to 12.31v with no check gages light on, so I drove it for about 10 min before the light come on again. Check gauges light and code P1682.

On a different forum, read where the field wires connected on the alternator to the PCM, they have continuity with less than 1 ohm on both sets of connector pins, with nothing if I tried to cross them checking for a short. I found no short. I am out of ideas. Anybody have any suggestions.

I have already replaced the battery terminals. Have good clean connections on battery and on all chassis grounds I could find.

On the battery post do a voltage drop on the battery positive battery terminal and the battery positive post, with the engine at idle if you measure more than 0.5 volts replace the terminal end. do this with the negative terminal also.
