Infinity i30 after long drive transmission won't shift.why?

The engine lite comes on and after I let it cool all's good

As long as the transmission does not exhibit a burnt transmission fluid condition , and there is no heavy debris in the transmission  pan, your best repair is the control valve assembly of the transmission.
