Hello I have a 2012 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T limited . My engine light is on and sometimes when I hit 20 and 40 MPH my car jerks back at me . The code P0711 came up , the Hyundai dealership told me I need a new transmission harness and plug . Other mechanics tell me it's very rare that is the case on new model vehicles and to replace the fluid sensor first and see what happens ... I purchased the transmission fluid temperature sensor and now I just need help on the steps to locate where it's at and exactly what I need to do after replacing the sensor ! HELP PLEASE !!

HI there

The temp sensor is mounted to the valve body under the transmission pan. You will have to pull the pan off the front of the transmission, then you will be able to see the temp sensor. Replacement is as simple as unplugging it and removing the sensor and installing the new sensor.

They use a liquid gasket sealant on it. You will have to replace that. Get a tube of RTV. Basically it's gasket in a tube, and you are very welcome!
