2000 Toyota tundra 4.7, 2 wheel drive. Two weeks ago my check engine light came on and stayed on (not flashing). Hooked up the scanner and got a bank 2 sensor 2 oxygen sensor code. I replaced both down stream 02 sensors with new ones and cleared the codes. The check engine light came back on. We rescanned again and got a PO141 HO2S-12 (Bank 1 Sensor 2) Heater Circuit Malfunction CODE. I Replaced the two upstream O2 sensors 11 months ago. The first time I replaced the two upstream sensors was 9 years ago. Why is this happening?

Hi there

This could be due to a bad heater fuse in the fuse box under the hood. If it blew the fuse due to water getting into the connector, then it's going to give a code for the heater circuit. You should also check the wiring to the O2 sensor. If it's grounded or even shorted to power it's possible that could be causing the code. A bad ecm will also cause the code. It's best to use a scan tool that can see the live heater data going back to the computer.
