Thanks for responding to my question. I found out the book was wrong showing the distributor rotation. I removed the dist. cap and saw the rotor was turning C.C.W. not like the book shows. That solved the problem for multiple misfire, and no more p0300 code set. I set the time to 5deg. like the sticker under the hood called for, and now the idle RPM is 800, but the idle is just not as smooth at idle as my 91 8v Tracker. I adjusted the air idle screw on top of the intake manifold and it just seems to make a small change in idle speed, but then the computer will compensate and all will remain the same. So the question is,,,,,,,,,,what is the air adjustment screw for, and how do you adjust the air at idle? The sticker under the hood says not to mess with the air adjustment, as it is set at the factory, but someone had already played with it, that is why I tried to change it. You would think, direct injection would make that engine run as smooth as glass, but the 8v engine is WAY SMOOTHER. Thanks for your comments....
