2005 Dodge Durango. U0101 code. Is the PCM faulty or something in the trans?

Question

Replaced PCM with rebuilt/reprogrammed unit after complete system failure. Now the car starts and runs, but a U0101 code and no shift position indication, a high trans temp, and can't select tow/haul mode.

Is there a possible trans issue, never had this code before.
