My fiance let some joke of a mechanic work on her 2004 nissan xterra. He for whatever reason cut the factory plugs that the sensors plug into and hard wired both bank 1 & 2 that I am getting voltage codes from. Wont that effect the amount of voltage either to low or to high going back to the ecm? I have checked everything else and before I go searching at junk yards for the factory pigtails that I am going to correctly put back on and buy those expensive factory O2 Sensors I need some input. Thanks

Vehicle: 2004 nissan xterra 3.3L NS

You have to do what you stated you are going to do, When it comes to the ECM , on of its job is to look for open circuit, short circuits, grounds, and rationality. You can not hard wire when it comes to the sensor. , the ECM will see this as a circuit high , as a input do not be surprised if the pigtails are correctly repaired and the code remains and you end up having to replace the ECM
