Hi there

With the code P0340 you might be looking at a problem with the cam position sensor or the engine timing. If the timing is to far off the computer will prevent spark from happening.If the sensor isn't sending signal to the computer you won't get any spark either.

The P0508 code is for the idle air control circuit. This won't affect spark, just the way the car idles.
