I just ringged the engine and after everything has been couple back. I couldn't start the car. I scanned and is popping up a code p1612. Please note that same factory key have been using. Need your help please.

Vehicle: 2000 Nissan Maxima 3.0

HI there,

This is a NATS system code. You will have to have the key reprogrammed. If the battery is disconnected for to long the computer will lose the key code and cause this problem. Some of these did have issues with the computer failing and causing the code to appear as well. If this is the case the computer must be replaced. There is a TSB for this problem.

Thanks carguy1. There are some cases where the battery was disconnected for two weeks or more and car was able to start after putting back the batter In this case, the battery was disconnected for 5 days as it took the mechanic to complete the engine same number of days, So am wondering why this is happening after the engine was ringged.
