My daughter is wanting to buy this car for $4200 but the diagnostics show p0128 and p1017. I know the cost to replace the thermostat but this valve sensor is worrying me. Not sure if it's worth it to buy. Any advice quickly would be much appreciated

P0128 MAP, Thermostat

P1017 VVT - Sensor Plausible

The thermostat is just it a straight forward repair, P1017 plausible mean it not actual, , this can be the VVT sensor itself, that or its reluctor, P1017 what happens is when the engine is cold it exhibits a misfire and may even set a code for a misfire condition, Condition can be from where the motor oil was change and not the oil filter , and where the oil filter broke in pieces. To the camshaft vanos bolt, so to call a price is a shot in the dark.
