I recently went to my dealer for an oil change and they noticed that my plugs needed to be replaced. I paid for a full tune up and 24 hours later, my MIL light was on. This is a 2007 Dodge Dakota pickup, 6 cylinder.
They said they could not find anything and reset the data. (and the light was off)

Light came back on in less than 24 hours. A few more days and I bought an OBD II reader and checked out the code myself.

Catalytic System Efficiency Below Threshold bank 2

Any experience with this situation? My dodge is not under warranty and I am running up some bills. I need to get this fixed or diagnosed properly before my next inspection is due.

Any help or guidance is appreciated. Not a rich man, and need my truck.

Hi there

Usually with this code you will end up replacing the bank 2 catalytic converter. Sometimes a bad rear O2 sensor can cause the code for the converter to appear, but usually it's a bad converter.
