Should I buy a used Nissan Altima if my mechanic found the following 2 codes: P1778 and P0868

Question

Prior to my final (or my daughter's final ) decision to buy this car we took it too a very experienced mechanic and he found 2 codes in the car's computer (1) P1778 - Step Motor Function and (2) P0868 - Secondary Pressure Down.  The dealer (not a Nissan Dealer) stated they would take it to a Nissan mechanic to determine the cause.  So far the only info I have received was that the codes have been cleared.  Don't know what was checked.  There was no Check Engine light on but again, found during my mechanic checking the car out.  Question - Should I go ahead with the purchase??

These code together , this is going to be a internal mechanical condition. If you want to buy it there is a more than likely possibility you will end up buying a rebuilt transmission . your daughter will not drive it very much it will just be towed.
