I had my traction control light and check engine light come on, when the lights were on I had no power when trying to accelerate. The lights only come on at initial start of the engine, not during the drive. Took it to autovalue and they plugged computer in read P0340 - changed the cam shaft sensors and lights still came on again. Lights will come on and off. One day I start it and go 3 separate times and they wont come on at all that day. Another day I start it and both lights are on and sometimes I start it and it is just check engine. What avenue should I take next?

Hi there,
First, as silly as it sounds, make sure you are replacing the bank 1 cam sensor. Secondly, use a dealer part. The cam sensors fail often and are updated all the time. If that looks good or you have done that, then check the connection on the sensor and trace the signal wire back to the pcm. If there is a problem with the wiring it could give you a code like this. Intermittent.
