Would a dirty MAF sensor cause a P0175 code and not a P0172 code?

Question

Should I look at replacing my MAF sensor if I have a P0175 code only? Wouldn't a dirty MAF sensor cause both codes to appear? The engine runs well.

It is possible for the code to start on one side of the engine, however I would be looking at the front O2 sensor on that bank as the more likely cause of the problem. Usually when the problem is only on one bank the O2 sensor is responsible.
