2008 Kia Sportage 2.0L with engine code P0016, how could I fix the code?

This code indicates and issue with the timing advance on the cam. This can be due to timing chain, timing belt or the sensor itself.Normally a scan tool is used to watch the input from the sensor to determine tha cause. This is general a mechanical issue.
