I am getting a P0340 code and the sensor has been replaced.  I have replaced the starter and coil pack of the vehicle because the starter went out while the mechanic was trying to fix it.  The problem started with the car jerking while my foot was on the brakes.  The P0340 was the only code coming up at first but then a #1 and #4 misfire code come up.  After the coil pack was replaced all the codes were gone.  Within 5 to 10 miles the P0340 code was back.  The connector of the sensor is good and no short or open circuit can be found.  The mechanic removed the code and I drove it for about 70 miles and the code come back again. All connections seem to be good and no visible shorted or damaged wires and the battery is good.

HI there

You may have a mechanical timing issue causing the code. Sometimes the timing belt will jump a couple of teeth and bring up the cam sensor code. You also need to check the resistance and the wires from the computer. Visually looking at them doesn't always show a problem. I would check the timing belt and timing marks however since it's a pretty common problem.
