The gas needle is at half tank then the car shuts down. Fill up the tank with 2-4 gallons while the nozzle keeps shutting off.

Removing the charcoal canister did not help. Right before the issue, an after market gas filter replaced the oem.

You have 2 fuel pump one to feed the engine which obviously works and the other is the return that receives fuel and returns it  to the fuel tank side that feeds the engine  , that one is faulty. this is the expensive one.

Thank you very much Reyaldo. I have been testing EVAP system and disabling the charcoal canister, solenoids, cleaning the pipes, changing out fuel filter. I believe that your answer is correct. I am going to do what you've said and will update this thread later.

Be careful you can easily remove the fuel pump part and if that side is empty you can do the return pump sometimes it the hose that feed the other side that breaks off.  the return pump being plastic so many component breaks for a least cost they do sell the return pump only.

Reynaldo,

You are right. After replacing the gas sender unit on the driver side I could fill up the gas tank in one shot. I'd like to award you $50 and I will send money via PayPal or send a check to you.
