2004 Nissan Xterra Camshaft sensor A location

Question

I am getting code P0340 for my 2004 Nissan xterra. I need help finding where the camshaft sensor A circuit bank 1 is in the motor itself. Is it different from a 2005 ?

Hi there,

On this engine the cam sensor is part of the distributor. Normally if you have this code you will have to replace the distributor. Before doing that,make sure the rotor turns as you crank the engine. The 05 has a 4.0L engine, this one uses the 3.3L engine.
