p0026 subaru engine code and trouble shifting

2008 Subaru outback- oil level was very low but the vehicle was running fine. After filling oil and changing filter the vehicle shows a p0026 engine code and the automatic transmission has trouble shifting around 3500-4000 rpm. Any help is appreciated. thanks!
