Reverse only no forward gears?

Question

Just put in another tranny had to rebuild t case now i only have reverse and no forward gears check engine light is on but no code reader to diagnose why its on any help would be appreciated

Reverse and no forward gear, this is more a mechanical condition, Even if you have  the code it may not even relate to the condition.
