P0016 Crankshaft to Camshaft position Correlation

This is usually caused by the camshaft actuator, where the misalignment of the timing chain occurs. This would not cause the transmission to seem to go into neutral, When you let off the gas pedal , this is definitely a transmission concern. Depending on the scan tool that you are using , P0016 would code first since it is a catalyst damaging code. The transmission code  is either pending or listed on 7E8 menu. or 7E9. The transmission concern you have is more than likely a P0757, this a hydraulic fluid leak internally, either caused by a crack shell in the transmission , or debris int eh valve body, where a transmission flush is helpful.
