My auto electrician says heater unit not vital to replace?

My auto electrician says the the heater unit in the sensor only operates for a minute or so until the exhaust heats up and so he says it's ok to not replace the sensor as engine will only run rich for a minute or two. What do you think please?

That's correct, what the heater does is maintain a set temperature so the engine will stay in fuel control, this is return save money on fuel, and by maintain a fuel control. The whole purpose of the CK ENG LT is to protect the catalytic convertor and nothing else. especially from rich running condition.

 The problem of not resolving the issue with the 02 sensor code that is set, if not resolved soon it can harm not only the catalytic convertor but damage the ECM driver for the 02 sensor heater circuit, ​
