Why won't the car start?

Car will not start without getting a jump from another car.  Was told the car needed an alternator, but the problem still exists even with the new alternator.  Was told by the same mechanic that the car actually needs a throttle replaced and it would cost about $900.

That would be true, if the throttle or the TPS is faulty there would be a hard time in starting the car
