Starts fine when engine sits overnight. If it sits for an hour or 3 it will crank awhile and start if given a little gas, the surge up to 2100 RPM and drop and die unless you give it a bit of gas before it drops. If it dies it then starts up just fine, no cranking. It runs fine otherwise
What would cause that? No codes, no lights on.

HI there

This could be an issue with the mass air flow sensor or a vacuum leak causing the problem. You might be able to unplug the maf sensor and then start it and see if it performs better.
