Can the wrong tcm cause the p0740 ??

The trans was replaced with not the same trans and I am not sure if they changed the tcm with it

P0740 Torque convertor clutch circuit /open

The TCM may have something to do with it, but this code condition is more of a mechanical condition. One of cause that can set a P0740 is low transmission fluid, the fluid level is important to checked, as well as the transmission filter being properly seated.
