2003 Mazda6 2.3 Cranks, Starts for one second loses spark dies?

Just bought a 2003 Mazda 6 2.3. Previous owners said while driving the car the gages went crazy then died. Now it will turn over, start for half a second and seems to lose spark and dies. Checked timing chain it seems to be okay. Battery is new. Husband tried starting over and over then noticed the engine light blink 8 times. Disconnected the battery connected it back. Plugged car into the scanner and came up with code p0661 and u0073. Further on said no communication between PCM and ABS/TCM. When reading into transmission code u0100 came up. We are stumped and don't know much at all about Mazda. We NEED advice on what to check next!!!!!

You could be dealing with a ignition switch problem ( the electronic part) try holding the key as you are starting the engine at the point where the engine starts hold that spot to where it would stay running, If this ways start the engine it would be the ignition switch
