finally have a code(P0302) How do I address this problem? plz read details

engin light just came on today, but for almost 6 mos. several things have been going on. like, sometimes I have dash lights other times wont. electronic throttle control light comes on, stays on for 30sec-a min then goes off, when stepping on accelerator once I get up to 50 mph or around there it starts to cut out like choking but don't lose power. However, when accelerating to pass somebody, the rpms are red lined before it finally shifts. All these things, and more happen sporadically,or not, at any given time! no 2 issues at the same time tho. the etc light comes on more frequently lately so took to mechanic who had it two days, drove it both days for almost 40 mi. total with not 1 single duplication of any of the stuff going on presented itself!!! No code(s) nothing!! Now today when engine lite came on I thought i'd try to see if any codes came up by doing it myself, and i be darned if the P0302 code came right up! So, any ideas or thoughts.......Please
