Will replacing the EVAP vent valve fix this problem& cause the engine light to go off?

Will replacing the EVAP vent valve fix this problem& cause the check engine light to go off? I got error code po442 at AutoZone on my 2011 Nissan Rogue AWD

P0442 Evaporative emission leak detected (Small)

The fuel cap  is the first that should be done, The seal at the fuel cap tend to wear out. or improper securing of the fuel cap
