The issue started when the son in law had the battery replaced at an auto parts store.
The codes were P0700, P0743 and I believe P0753.
I soldered all the pins on the cable that enters the transmission and checked the continuity for the two wire harnesses inside the transmission as noted in the great video.
All solenoids checked out to specs and had continuity throughout the complete internal wire harness prior to reassembly..
I tightened the connectors on the main harness entering the transmission.
Checked all fuses.
Dash shows which gear is selected.
If it is driven with 3rd selected there are no shifting issues. It seems to operate just fine over 15 miles.
If placed in D(drive) after warm up it will go into safe mode, or stuck in third gear.
Did I screw up when I soldered the joints. I don't know.
If I missed something or you have any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.
Maybe someone knows of a good Kia transmission shop in Lakeland, Fl?
