New egr valve and getting po405 code, why?

Had po405 and replaced severely rusted valve

P0405 Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) sensor A circuit high

This is circuit high code check the connection to the EGR, a circuit high code occurs when the ECM see a open circuit, This is one of the jobs of the ECM to look for open circuit , short circuit, grounded circuit and rationality.

​ At this particular year Ford list 2 type of EGR system in this vehicle if you have a DPF this code for the DPF and not the EGR

​ If this vehicle has this type of EGR, check the connection leading to the EGR a failed connection or a open along its harness will set a circuit high code
