Getting 1796 code on a 2001 Dodge Intrepid. What's the fix?

Transmission slipping out of OD. Goes back after letting off the gas pedal a few seconds later. Code coming up is a 1796, kick down switch circuit malfunction. What needs to be done?

P1796 Autostick  Sensor Circuit

The autostick is the problem what happens when the code is set the autostick tends to have a closed circuit at the upshift and the downshift at the same time replace the auto stick that would resolve it.
