Faulty heater sensor or oxygen sensor P0037 Toyota corolla

Question

My wife's car (06 Toyota corolla ce) O2 sensor is welded to the exhaust  pipe.  Check engine light keeps coming on saying sensor is bad. What should i do?

This oxygen sensor is the one after the catalytic convertor. There are several ways to remove the 02 sensor, Force it out which will result in the 02 insert being stripped, and if it is not too bad a rethread can be done to restore the threads, The other way is to cut the 02 sensor insert and weld a new 02 sensor insert in place
