I have a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi.  When the check engine light comes on with the traction control light the automatic transmission will not shift beyond 4 gear. This issue has been happening for the last five months.  Car Max has attempted to fix it three times and two different Dodge dealers a total of six times with no luck. They have changed the can sensor, crank sensor, replaced and refreshed the pcm numerous times.  The longest it has gone without the lights coming back on after being repaired is 7 days. Any ideas?

I had the same issue on my 2011 Ram 1500 Sport 5.7, turns out it was the Cam Phaser which is internal. Now almost 2 years later it’s going back in for the same problem.

P0344 Camshaft position sensor intermittent

When the CK ENG LT comes on , Traction and ABS are disabled, the reason for this is that the vehicle is not operating at manufacturer specification . The best way to approach this , is the use of a labscope to monitor the signal that is being put out
