Code po1309, could the pcm be bad? 2002 Ford explorer

Just wondering if the pcm needs to be replaced, can one be replaced out of a salvage yard?

It is possible the issue is the PCM and you can use a salvage yard computer, however the issue is usually generated by a faulty cam position sensor. Here's some more info
